SiC ceramics were prepared by hot press with Yb2O3-Al2O3 as sintering additives. The content of additive were 5%, 10%, and 15% (wt) respectively. The molar ratios of Yb2O3/Al2O3 were 8:2, 2:1, 6:4, 1:1, 3:5, 2:8. The phase composition and properties of the sintered bodies were investigated.
